We have had Weber grills it seems forever. Our first was a kettle grill for our wedding, then after years we purchased a performer. We had to replace the performer as it was very dated and finally was time to replace. We had purchased also a Q gas grill for nights that when we came home we could just fire up the gas quickly. We missed the charcoal grill and instead of buying the new performer after many discussions decided on purchasing the 22 1/2 in kettle charcoal grill since we also used our gas Q. We did not purchase the performer as we thought since we wanted to limit our space and have it reside in a smaller place and we already used the Q it would be fine.

First we went back and forth with the 18 inch and 22 1/2 inch. Purchase the 22 1/2 inch. Much better space and it works nicely. We also based on recommendation purchased a chimney for the charcoal. I thought that was a myth but it really does work. It is amazing and gets the charcoal to a grey real fast. The charcoal grill was easy to assemble. However I did find the grill much more cheaply made. The wheels were not as sturdy, much more plastic then the performer. I miss the temperature gauge that was on the performer as that does make a difference. I have to guess at the temperature now. I also do not like having to purchase the lid slideaway as an extra item. Those small things really should have been added to the charcoal grill since the price is pretty steep. You can purchase a black 22 1/2 gold charcoal grill for around $129 to a $149 depending on the color. Weber needs to make these improvements. The need to add a third wheel (maybe smaller) to the front leg that has no wheel now. It seems too flimsy the way it is. I would not recommend purchasing one of these if you plan on using this all the time as your only grill. I would purchase it if you want to take it on tail gating parties, picnics, etc. I would purchase the performer instead. The performer however is a bit pricer, and the plastic top that is on there seems rather ugly. They could replace that with something more elegant. Even though I realize that it probably out performs the life of the product. At least the older performers did have a nicer looking top.

I bought this for my 22″ charcoal grill that is not made by Weber and it still fit perfect. It seems built to last and it adds a shelf right where you need it.

Because the Weber Grill is round (and there is no real place for items you may need while grilling) this holder is a MUST! Especially handy and quite secure. I don’t regret purchasing it at all!

  4. I got 2 for hubby and they both fit well and are sturdy – he really likes them. Don’t need them for just spices and sauces but also have a place now to put utensils. Very handy.

  5. One of the inconveniences of using the traditional Weber kettle is the absence of workspace. The condiment holder is a big plus because you can place your bottled sauces, spices, and rubs at arm’s reach. It’s very sturdy, typical of Weber accessories. For even more convenience, buy a Weber Tool Holder and hang it on the outside of the condiment holder. You can actually fit two and that puts your tools and mitts away from the heat of the grill and closer to you.
